September 16, 2009- Protocol Review

Protocol Review Day
Injection Day #1
Weight: Way too much!
Dress Size: 18/20
Mood: EXCITED!

I finally received my medication and went to see Sandy for the Protocol Review. I am so excited but a bit freaked out at the prospect of giving myself an injection each day.

I am determined to get this weight that has accumulated over the last several years off and be fit and healthy and HOT when I graduate with my Master's in March of 2010. Plus, I just received my Acceptance Letter to the GCU Doctoral Studies Program so I am super excited about that! When I become Dr. Stacie, I want to be looking good!

At the Protocol Meeting, sandy went over all of the Do's and Don'ts of the Program with me. Some of the things I found interesting were:

  1. You should wear surgical gloves when trimming fat from meat so as not to absorb the fat through your skin. Really???
  2. You can skip the Melba Toast with your meals and get an extra fruit each day. HMMMMM.... dried out, tasteless cardboard or an extra serving of strawberries or an orange? Tough decision.
  3. Iceberg lettuce has no nutritional value--- use other, tastier lettuce varieties.
  4. Take the tail off of the shrimp before you weigh it. I probably would not have thought of this, but it makes sense.
  5. Expect to gain a little weight over the next three BINGE DAYS.
  6. Put away all of the Bath and Bodyworks stuff and use only the lotions, soaps, makeup etc. on the oil-free list.

Then it was time to mix the medication and give myself the first injection. Mixing it was very easy. Sandy said the injection should be given in the stomach fact and of course I had on the layers of Spanx and body briefers I wear under clothes (THICK is okay...thick AND jiggly....NEVER!!!) so she said I could give it in my arm. Taking a deep breath, I plunged the needle in....AMAZING, the needle is so small that I didn't even feel a thing. One done, many more to go!

I left the meeting feeling pumped and excited! I am sooooo ready for this adventure to begin!
